Handelsblatt Magazin
This project is a complete magazine design, developed from scratch for Handelsblatt.
The objective was to create a modern business magazine that combines journalistic authority with editorial clarity, visual restraint and a strong typographic foundation.
Concept
The magazine was conceived as a coherent editorial system, not as a collection of individual layouts.
From the outset, the focus was on:
Clear narrative flow
Calm hierarchy for complex business topics
Strong typographic structure
A confident, timeless visual language
Content, structure and design were developed in parallel.
Design Approach
The design translates classic magazine principles into a contemporary context.
Key elements include:
A flexible grid system for long-form and short-form content
Clear typographic contrast between analysis, commentary and features
Generous white space to support readability
A restrained visual language that emphasizes content over decoration
The result is a magazine that feels authoritative, composed and current.
