NEXT LEVEL
This project is a complete editorial dummy, developed from scratch for a contemporary extension of Handelsblatt.
The goal was to translate the journalistic authority of the Handelsblatt into a younger, future-oriented editorial format without losing clarity, credibility or typographic discipline.
Concept
The dummy was conceived as a stand-alone editorial system.
From editorial structure and content logic to typography, grid and visual rhythm.
Focus areas:
Clear hierarchy for complex topics
Strong typographic voice
Calm, confident layout
Readability across long-form content
Design Approach
The design balances editorial restraint with contemporary clarity.
Classic newspaper principles were reinterpreted through:
A modular grid system
Reduced but expressive typography
Strong rhythm between text, headlines and white space
A layout language that works across sections and formats
The result is an editorial system that feels current,
while remaining rooted in journalistic tradition.
